Papers! ("the App") is developed by Out of Range Studio ("we", "us", or "our"). We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and what choices you have.
All documents, images, and text extracted by the App are stored locally on your device. We do not operate any servers and have no access to your data.
If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data is transmitted and stored by Apple under your own Apple ID. We have no access to your iCloud container or its contents. Apple's privacy policy governs iCloud data handling.
The App requests access to your device's camera to scan documents and to your photo library to import images. Photos and scans are processed and stored entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to any external server.
The App may use Face ID or Touch ID to protect access to your documents. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by Apple's Local Authentication framework on your device. We never receive, store, or transmit biometric data.
The App uses Apple's Vision framework to extract text from scanned documents. All text recognition is performed on-device. No document content is sent to external services.
The App does not collect analytics, usage data, or diagnostics. The App does not contain any third-party tracking SDKs, advertising frameworks, or analytics services. We do not track you in any way.
The App does not integrate with any third-party services. The only external services used are Apple's own frameworks (CloudKit for iCloud sync, StoreKit for in-app purchases), which are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
We do not share, sell, or disclose your data to any third parties. Your documents remain on your device and, if enabled, in your personal iCloud account.
All data is stored locally on your device and optionally in your iCloud account. You can delete individual documents within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all local data. iCloud data can be managed through your device's iCloud storage settings.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since all data stays on-device, no personal information is collected from any user.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
